Bizarre adolescent customs

Today while I was writing a story, I remembered a bizarre teenage tradition that was never, to my knowledge, put into practice.

It concerned the tabs that come off of soda cans if you rock them back and forth enough. In theory, these were redeemable for sex, but I never heard this from guys, so I am not sure why teenaged girls thought they needed any sort of token to get laid.

In my region, the completeness of the tab was related to how far you went. I distinctly remember that if it had the little round hole complete, it meant 69, because the discussion in which I learned what 69 meant had to do with the soda tabs.

I have no idea if it came from a movie, or what, and I'd love to know the source of it.
