If you don't follow [personal profile] skygiants's booklogging, you are missing a great deal of joy.

As an example, let me present the entry on Book 3/5 of Les Misérables, namely "Marius." The log assumes some familiarity with the text but not an overwhelming amount, and picks up on some highlights while also explaining some of the denser sections of "What is going on?"-level history.

It is also hysterically funny. No, really.

That is, Cornelia, mother of the Gracchi as compared to/inspiring Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan as written by Lois McMaster Bujold.

The former:
An anecdote, likely invented, demonstrates Cornelia's devotion to and admiration for her sons. When women friends questioned Cornelia about her mode of dress and personal adornment, which was far more simple and understated than was usual for a wealthy Roman woman of her rank and station, Cornelia indicated her two sons and said, "These are my jewels."

The latter:
All true wealth is biological.

Add to that Cordelia's son Miles, bearing a Latin name centuries out of season, and I want someone to write this because I am not equipped to do it justice.
