My mouth is full of yay
May. 25th, 2009 09:14 pmI tried making salt caramels once before and ended up with very delightful pale ice cream sauce.
Today, there is a batch of dark, rich honest to goodness candy cooling in the microwave, and my tongue is in heaven from trying the bits we scraped onto an extra platter.
It is much more fun with extra bits of salt on top, not accounted for in the recipe. Also, one of the comments notes that one shouldn't scrape the saucepan into the main dish.
I'll figure out how much it really makes when it's properly cool.
