My feelings about various kinks, current as of 1/16/2026

As a general rule, I need to write myself into finding something hot, and for that, I need a character (or characters) whom I believe would enjoy it. So I tend to have specific fictives in mind for most of these, when the answer isn't "All of them."


ageplay - One weekend, while very inspired, I wrote both mommykink and daddykink. Yes, please. There's nothing in this list for age gaps that aren't play, but are canon. I cut my teeth on Jehan Prouvaire/M. Gillenormand, and have written scads of mentor/student — considering that I rarely remember to tag for it because the pairings are self-evident — so yes please on that score.

animal play - This one never occurs to me to write, but I've enjoyed reading it.

anonymity - I prefer it if the reader can work out the anonymous party's identity because it makes reading more of a shared secret.

authority figures - Hello, mentor/student kink. Hello, writing a bunch of cops. Bring it on.

begging - Oh, please, please, yes, please!

bites/bruises - Some of my favorite imaginary people are masochists. Some of my favorite imaginary people are sadists. Gnawing on each other is enrichment in their enclosure.

blades - No thank you.

bloodplay - No thank you, unless it's menstrual fluid.

bodily secretions - Yes for sexual secretions. For nonsexual secretions, no thank you. No lactation kink for me, either.

body alteration/injury - Alteration in the sense of magical weirdness, yes. Injury is not a kink locus for me, but people dealing with disabilities can be fascinating. See also: bites/bruises.

body part fetishes (other) - Forehead kisses and belly nuzzles are some of my favorite things.

bondage - Yes, please.

breathplay - I have written it on occasion and enjoy reading it.

caning - Generally not. Has anyone written the Bruce Wayne/Terry McGinnis story? I'd read that.

chastity devices - Yes, please.

collars - I have written them in everything from Dom/sub universe to DCU, obvious and stealth. Yes, please.

confined/caged - No thank you.

consent play - Sure.

costumes - Yes and also Please.

crossdressing - Yes, please.

dirty talk - I adore dirty talk that doesn't break character.

domestic/tradesman kink - Not generally something I go for, but depending on the character, it could work.

double penetration - Spitroasting and two-in-one are both yes, please.

drugs/aphrodisiacs - I have written a lot of sex pollen.

electricity - Not a go-to, but I have plenty of characters who have been electrocuted enough to know what it feels like, so some of them may be able to eroticize it.

emotion manipulation - Yes please.

enemas - I have read stories that convinced me, for the duration of the story, that this was a kink worth entertaining.

exhibitionism - With willing participants and audience, yes. With an unwilling audience, no.

exposure/striptease - Go for it.

film/photography - My default icon for the last 21 years has been Barbara Gordon watching Dick Grayson in his distant apartment, while Tim Drake enthuses over the GraysonCam. So, so yes.

fisting - Intimidating, and sometimes intimidating is hot.

food - Go for it.

foot/shoe fetish - I can believe many characters might have one; I do not, but you might be able to sell me on it for any given character.

fucking machines - Yes please.

gags - If it's been negotiated and everyone's safe, yes; otherwise no thank you.

gangbang - TL;DR: Yes.

gender play - Yes please.

genital torture - This one rides the edge between kink and squick, but I'll give it a try.

guns - No thank you.

hand fetish - Hell yes.

historical roleplay - Prithee!

humiliation - This one's a giant irreducible minefield to me. If the character doesn't know they ought to be embarrassed (Jeff from Coupling), then I'm probably embarrassed to death for them. If the character knows they ought to be embarrassed but doesn't care (Geoffrey from Slings & Arrows), I'm okay. If the character gets off on being told exactly how naughty they are, and encourages that, please write more.

humiliation (verbal) - As above--safe, sane, consensual verbal humiliation, intersecting good, hard, and repeatedly with dirty talk? Bring it on and tell them how dirty they are, as long as it gets them hot instead of making them feel bad.

impact play - If the character's having fun, good.

in public - A frequent foible of mine.

leather/latex/rubber - My name is Petra and I have studied the Robin uniform diagram at length.

locks/chains - Sometimes, as in bondage.

masters doms slaves & subs - Outright slave-verse stories don't tend to do it for me, but I could read D/s, D/s-verse, or BDSM negotiations all day long. Also, incorporating characters' histories as slaves (hi, Anakin Skywalker).

mechanical/technological - Technology is for expanding the limits of human possibility. In bed.

medical kink - Generally no thank you.

mind control/amnesia - Especially amnesia for the identity porn angle.

mirrors - Yes please, especially with masters, doms, slaves, and subs.

nippleplay - Yes please.

obedience - The more difficult and hard-earned, the better.

object penetration - Yes, at least of major orifices. Sounding is a no thank you.

omegaverse - I only enjoy subversions and interesting worldbuilding, not the sex part, so please don't if you're writing for me.

oral fixation - Yes and how.

orgasm denial/control - Yes please.

orgy - Fuck yeah.

painplay - Consensual? Sure.

pegging/strap-ons - Yes please.

penance/punishment - If the characters are getting off on it and achieving catharsis, yes.

plushie or furry kink - Not something I seek out, but you might be able to convince me.

possession/marking - Yes, especially when it's fully consensual, publicly visible marking. The less ambiguous the better.

prostitution - I kink on this as roleplay/undercover, but I don't seek out "[Character] is a prostitute" stories.

rough sex - Yes please.

rubbing/grinding - Yes please.

scars/scarification - More scars than scarification, but convince me.

sensation play - Yes please.

sensory deprivation - Sometimes.

service - Yes, please, whether you have yourself a classic submissive or a service top.

sex toys - Yes, please.

shaving/depilation - Mostly only interesting to me in terms of uniforms or gender play.

silence - I prefer dirty talk, but if they're struggling for the silence in terms of obedience or necessity because there's someone right over there and they just can't wait, sure.

sleepy/unconscious - Hard to do consensually enough for me.

smacking/slapping - Sure.

spanking/paddling - Yes, please.

suspension - I can't think when I've read it, but I can't think why I wouldn't.

watersports - I have enjoyed reading it. I don't know that I've ever seen a scat story that worked for me, but that may be because there just aren't that many scat stories kicking around any of my fandoms.

waxplay - I've enjoyed reading it.

whipping/flogging - When consensual, yes.

worship - Sure.

writing on the body - Yes please.

Then I got fictives whom I firmly believe would engage in mommykink (or, on occasion, daddykink) in ways that other fictives I have loved only wink at. So I suppose the answer is now bring it on. Also, de-aging characters or time-travel is lovely. crossdressing - Best when done for Justice, but splendid all the time. Though harder for me in live action fandoms, even when they've done it (here's looking at you, Ms. Fraser).

dirty talk - For some reason it keeps coming out in thick Mancunian these days. Which is to say, yes, please, and more.

domestic/tradesman kink - No thank you.

double penetration - I've written it vanishingly infrequently for how compelling I find it as a thought.
